MINI 2 (UNDER 10)
With the introduction of non-contested scrums and linesouts at U/9 and U/10 levels the players are being introduced to the concept of possession being contested with a scrum or lineout for infringements in the game, i.e. ball in touch, knock-on or forward pass. Coaches can now introduce the lineout and scrum skills in a safe non-contact environment where every player can try all the positions on the pitch and players are not put into specific roles.
All the collective skills that apply to Mini 1 also apply to Mini 2 but with the increase in the capacities of the players the coach can now challange the players in the game with a higher emphasis on support, continuity and decision making.
